Elk Rapids Schools incorporates an, "International Baccalaureate Program", in which many of the classes include material of an international nature.  The object of the program is to make students aware of events, customs and problems throughout the world.  To quote from the school's Webpage:

Using global contexts, MYP students develop an understanding of their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet through developmentally appropriate explorations of:

  •  identities and relationships
  • personal and cultural identity
  • orientations in space and time
  • scientific and technical innovation
  • fairness and development
  • globalization and sustainability.
Our club's involvement in, "Pure Water for the World", is focused on Haiti.  In 2016, we were pleased to help provide the financial support to assist three ERHS students in traveling to Haiti to see what this effort involves and to interact with their counterparts.
