Welcome to Fundraising Season! For the next several weeks our intent is to focus on making connections with the businesses and people we know in the Elk Rapids area to ask them to support our charitable efforts with their donations. The hope is that a more focused approach will:
involve everyone
share the load rather than depend on the efforts of a few who burn out
comprehensively canvas area businesses and donors
have a positive effect on donations and the GW budget
Ed Boettcher has the materials we can use in our asks, and you can get those from him. Blaine Campbell will be tracking our donations and progress. And, there's a link on our website to allow donors to give online.
Probably the best place to start is to contact Ed to review who our records show that you contacted in previous years. We can adjust that list as needed, and make any additions that are appropriate. Obviously, with changes in membership over the past few years, there are some businesses and donors whose connections to Rotary are no longer in the club, so we would like to reassign them. Once your target list is set, set aside a couple of hours, and make some visits or calls. Tell our story, ask for their support, and that's it. If each member makes 5-10 contacts, we know we can have a great campaign.

President's Message
Thank you to Norm for another interesting presentation. As we approach the Elk Rapids Rotary Club's 75th anniversary, Norm is helping us to understand what it was like when the club was founded, and who was involved. This week he detailed the circumstances that lead to the first meeting taking place in a cherry packing warehouse. We've come a long way!
Change in Meetings
I had previously announced that the GW Committee and Board meetings were swapping meeting dates, but after being made aware of conflicts that some board members have on the 4th Tuesday, it was decided that the 3rd Tuesday would work better, and so going forward that will be the board meeting date each month. Thank you to everyone involved for working toward a solution.
