Library Planning Continues
Library Director and Rotarian Pam Williams updated the club about plans for the new library, as well as information about the budgeting and capital campaign. At this point, the initial project, estimated to cost around $9M has been scaled back to about $6M, and fundraising is in the "quiet phase" during which supporters of the library are reaching out to potential private donors for their help. Pam also shared the proposed floor plan, which has some thoughtful and innovative features, with a heavy emphasis on kids.

President's Message
The board met after last Tuesday's meeting and took these actions:
  • Removed the annual 4% payment of the GW budget to the General Fund
  • Tabled discussions of the GW and General Fund budget until next month's meeting.
  • Discussed the success of the BBQ and possible future plans.
  • Requested a special board meeting at the planned new home for the library.
  • Proposed options for supporting our club's public image committee.

Fundraising Effort
The rollout of the fundraising plan was moved back to next week's meeting, 6/20, to accommodate the full library presentation, as both topics need and deserve adequate time for presentation and questions.
