An Authentic Polish Christmas Auction at HERTH

The evening of December
5 progressed as planned with at least 50 Rotarians and guests gathering for an evening of sumptuous Polish Food provided by River Street Market. What an array of tasty delights!
Santa looked and played the part to the hilt, with white beard and spectacles.  Mrs. Santa plus two very suspect elves were adept at helping read clues and distribute gifts.  The good news is that Rotarians raised a total of $9400 for the following four 501c3 organizations:
  • Acme Christian Thrift Store and Food Pantry
  • Good Samaritan Family Services
  • Child and Family Services of Northwest Michigan
  • Thrive Medical Clinic(Pregnancy Care Center)
Rotarians laughed as they dug deep in their pockets to provide a fun filled evening in order to provide monies for these very worthwhile organizations.
Application to Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation has been made for a $1500 match for both ACTS and Good Samaritan.  Yesterday, I reached out to River Street Market and expressed our gratitude for a great dinner.  Thanks also are in order for past presidents Tom Stephenson and Gary Chenoweth and spouses for their help in organizing the details.
