Our Next Meeting
Harbor Pavilion in Elk Rapids
7 am
Our Tuesday, October 3 meeting will be a club business meeting.  President Elect Dale Gehman will be on board to facilitate the meeting.  First of all, Kevin Hoch , Antrim County Sheriff will stop by for an introduction.

Laura Savoie, our club treasurer will present the club's budget for the fiscal year.

Additionally, the club will vote on a grant proposal for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library book program at $3000 per year for three years equalling $9000.    It is imperative that you attend the meeting for approval of this very important program to assist with childhood literacy.

Notably absent is the $ 5000 grant proposal for Pure Water for the World in Haiti.  It is with regret that the project is being discontinued after many years of providing assistance to the Haitian communities.  Please review Bill Donberg’s email for further information.

We sincerely thank the Donberg family for their dedication and commitment to this country.  We know that with their help along with the financial support of The Rotary Club of Elk Rapids, lives were saved.

October Rotarian of the Month

Laura Savoie is the Elk Rapids Rotarian of the month.  Currently serving as treasurer of the club, in early July, she began  a conversion of the club's financial books to Quickbooks -- not an easy task, requiring set up and classification of all expenses and revenue.

Laura also serves as Membership Manager at Elk Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce and treasurer of Friends of the Elk Rapids District Library.  She understands a thing or two about coffee, having run her own coffee business downstate for a number of years.  Good beans paired with the right roasting method can equal an amazing cup of coffee.  Just ask Laura!

She and her spouse Tom Stephenson truly believe in the power of Rotary.  We are so fortunate to have them on our team.
